A message from chairperson Ann Harris

Welcome to the Nene Quilters website.

The group, set up in 1989 by a handful of ladies meeting in each other's homes, now has over 250 members. We celebrated our 21st anniversary in June 2010 with a Festival of Quilts Show at the Saints Rugby ground in Northampton.

We meet on three Saturdays a year to share ideas, show off our latest creations and listen to guest speakers, who also exhibit their works. We always have at least 3 trade stands, work tables where members demonstrate small projects and a sales stand of articles donated by members. This is a wonderful way to spend a day together, socialising and exchanging ideas, shopping and being inspired to develop our talents and take on new projects.

Our meetings are held at the Abbey Centre Northampton which comfortably accommodates us and has lots of free parking. The meetings from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. are usually held in January, May and October.

All are welcome - membership is free, admission is currently £6 for each meeting (free tea/coffee provided - we usually have two refreshments sessions and help is always appreciated). Please bring a packed lunch and a current handicraft  project you are working on.

You can leave a message for all to see on our message board page or send an email to us on the contact us page. It would be good to get some feeback on our meetings in either of these ways. We need your comments to make sure the meetings are what you want to see and hear.

To implement this website, we have had the help of Rhod Davies, who, not being a quilter but married to a devotee, has had to put up with a lot of silly questions and ideas but we all hope you like the finished article.
